Roy came up under Tony Bongiovi's tutelage during The Power Station days. He worked there for over six years and left as a freelance engineer in the early 1990's. After working all across the country and at a multitude of studios, Roy came back to New York to establish his own project studio in Manhattan, later moving his room to Avatar Studios. In 2003, Roy joined Avatar's staff as Chief Engineer. Since his appointment, Roy worked on designing and fine-tuning the acoustics for Studio G, the mastering room and Studio E. All the rooms have been successful.

Roy's role at Avatar is as follows:

1. Mentors assistant engineers and production assistants, taking lessons from his 20+ years of engineering experience
2. Heads up the maintenance department - Roy is one of the rare talents in the industry who can engineer a session as well as design & repair audio gear at a very high professional level
3. Acts as a consultant to clients who may need advice on how to best utilize the rooms at Avatar since he knows the studio inside out
   

As an engineer, Roy has worked with a wide variety of artists in many different genres including B.B. King, Missy Elliott, Blondie, Cheap Trick, P.O.D., Gavin DeGraw, Miles Davis, Peter Paul & Mary, Richie Havens, Carly Simon, Judy Collins, Gato Barbieri, Pat Metheny, Al di Meola, Kirk Whalum, Jeff Golub, Philippe Saisse, Roberta Flack, Bernadette Peters, Liza Minnelli, Tal Wilkenfeld and Nicole C. Mullen.
